There are some problems, however, when it comes to parking, which is a direct result of how good the place actually is. The weekends see so many visitors that the parking becomes overcrowded. You can take care of that issue by planning in ample time.

The winters, though, are not that much friendlier on the Mettam’s Pool as high waves keep on coming and it’s quite risk to snorkel in these times. But the adventurers use this opportunity for surfing on the high waves. The area is well protected from the strong winds and provides for a safe yet chilling surfing experience. Lotterywest Federation Walkway Review- Nature Doesn’t Need To Justify Its Beauty

If you enjoy calm and serene surroundings and wish to make the most of your visit to King’s Park, you need to walk down the Lotterywest Federation walkway constructed singularly for purposes of scenic beauty and landscape. It is roughly a 620 meters journey among the treetops curling its way through the Western Australian Botanic Garden. It has become one of the major tourist attractions since it’s opening in 2003.

The walkway is suspended in the canopy of tall eucalyptus trees. The tourists can enjoy their view of Swan and Canning Rivers flowing beneath them in their 40 minute return journey, which ends at Beedawong amphitheatre. It has standard opening time from 9am to 5pm daily with free entry and a donation box.

Your walk Lotterywest Federation walkway will be a little hot if you go in the afternoons. So, an early sightseeing experience is preferable. The Marri Woodland Forest located below has some beautiful floral growth. It resonates with the Nyoongar aboriginal art on the walkway. To reach here, you just need to be around King’s Park somewhere. You just need to drive down Fraser Avenue till you reach the roundabout and look out for Lord Forrest statue. It is right around the corner of the statue.

The King’s Park also has a good café and a gift shop to buy souvenirs. Due to elevated construction, the walkway undergoes regular repairs time to time. No need to get scared because of the working crew while you are enjoying the scenic beauty. It is as safe as home. The aboriginal artwork has a rich culture behind it.

In the past aboriginal time, according to Nyoongar culture, the Waugal (the rainbow serpent) is said to have created the mountains and lakes among other distinctive geographical features, as we know Perth today. The pavement motif on the Lotterywest Federation walkway depicts the Waugal, a black swan, goanna and other birds, which were present in those times.

The War Memorial also comes under view from the walkway. It is a great picnic spot if one likes the warmth and nature. It is among those destinations, which aren’t worth missing.

The Albion is a beautiful, roomy sports bar with numerous pool tables, as many monkey nuts as you can eat, free poker nights and quiz nights on Wednesday.  The beer menu at The Albion is excellent, making it a great spot for adults, but Saturday nights are family friendly, with kids 12 years or younger eating free. The Albion also boasts their own butcher on site, so you can choose the exact cut of steak you want made.

The Mustang Bar is an American style sports bar and one of the few places in Perth where you can find American beer. They cater to a slightly older clientele, which is perfect if you’re looking to avoid a rowdy crowd, and there is live music and dancing every night of the week.

Paddy McGuire’s is one of Perth’s more popular Irish pubs. They offer a wide selection of both international and local beers on top, including Kilkenny and Guinness. There is live music from local bands on the weekends, and they also have regular karaoke during the week. Paddy McGuire’s serves old-fashioned Irish pub food and their television screens are quite large, making is a good place to watch a game with friends.

10. Carbon Bar Burswood Casino Complex

The Carbon Bar sports bar at the Burswood Casino Complex boasts a gigantic 12.5 M screen and 16 HD plasma screens throughout the bar. Being that they’re a part of the casino complex, Carbon Bar is open 24 hours a day and they’re a great place to watch the game and drink reasonably prices cocktails and beer.
